Caring for Eurobodalla National Park
Beachcomber Holiday Park is nestled between the Pacific Ocean and the Spotted Gum forests of Eurobodalla National Park. This extraordinary location is a privilege — and a responsibility. Our commitment to caring for this environment goes beyond minimising our footprint. We actively invest in restoring, protecting, and enhancing the national park ecosystem that makes Beachcomber so special.
The Beachcomber Sustainability Program
- Solar power and battery storage — 100% renewable energy generation on site. All cabins, sites and facilities are powered by solar, with battery storage to manage overnight demand.
- Rainwater harvesting — We collect and store all our own water on site through a combination of rainwater capture and bore water. We do not draw from town water supply.
- Advanced on-site wastewater management — All wastewater is treated and managed on site, protecting the national park’s waterways, freshwater lake, and coastline. The system is independently tested four times a year.
- Native garden restoration and mass plant-outs — We are systematically replacing non-native plantings with indigenous coastal species, restoring habitat and reducing water use across the property.
- Wildlife habitat boxes — Nesting boxes and habitat structures installed throughout the park support the native birds and mammals that call Eurobodalla National Park home.
- Worm farm and composting — Food waste from across the park is composted on site, diverting it from landfill and producing compost for our garden restoration program.
- Low impact cleaning — Only eco-friendly, biodegradable cleaning products are used throughout the park.
- Waste minimisation and recycling — We actively minimise waste and provide recycling facilities throughout the park.
Beachcomber Sustainability Levy
To fund this sustainability program on an ongoing basis, a Beachcomber Sustainability Levy of $2.50 per site per night applies to all bookings at Beachcomber. The levy is shown separately on your booking confirmation so you can see exactly what you are contributing to.
Annual site holders are not charged the levy.
We were inspired by eco-resorts across Australia who have long charged environmental levies as part of their commitment to the ecosystems they operate within. We believe guests who choose a national park experience actively want to be part of caring for it.
